We’re hearing local reaction following President Trump’s announcement that he’s no longer separating families at the U.S.-Mexico border.
We spoke with a Mexican-American who currently lives in Quincy. He says to see the pictures of families being separated at the border and being detained is heartbreaking.
"I think it’s a very terrible thing that’s happening," said Andrez Venavidez. "I feel like the majority of the kids that are down there are part of a family who is here to make a better living and to have the American dream and they’re being characterized as criminals."
Venavidez also thinks there are other underlying issues that need to be addressed by the Trump administration.
