Local golf course dealing with dry conditions

Recent rain has helped Westview golf course become more green and more soft for golfers.

This is according to Assistant Director of Golf Adam Longo. He said the golf course’s budget is at the mercy of Mother Nature. The lack of rain has caused them to use their sprinkler system for the T-box, fairway and greens.

"We have had to use the water a little bit more than (we) originally have," said Longo. "We’ve been a little over budget with that, but at this point in the year, we’ve got the rest of the summer. Hopefully, we get some more rainfall than we have and we can get that budget back down."

Longo said having to deal with the golf course conditions is just part of the game.
