‘Longest Day for Alzheimer’s awareness

You may have a loved one, or know someone battling Alzheimer’s disease.

Thursday,  the Alzheimer’s Association of Illinois used the summer solstice — the longest day of the year , to raise awareness about the deadly disease. They’re also honoring caregivers who put in long days to help those affected.

There will be a program this weekend focusing on early detection for Alzheimer’s. That will be Saturday morning at the Quincy Public Library from 10:30 a.m. to noon.
