Four injured in head-on collision in Marion County

Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to a crash in Marion County Sunday morning. 

Troopers said at 9:15 a.m., a car driven by Michael Gustin, 38, of Bethel collided with a pick-up truck driven by George Payne, 87, of Wentzville.

The crash report said it happened on Route J, five miles northwest of Philadelphia, Missouri. 

Troopers said both vehicles met near the center of the road and collided head-on. 

Four people in both cars were transported to Blessing Hospital with injuries.

The report said Gustin had serious injuries and the juvenile passenger had minor injuries. 

Payne had moderate injuries and his passenger had minor injuries. 

The crash report said all drivers were wearing safety devices at the time of the crash. 

Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Palmyra Fire, Marion County Ambulance, and Life Flight Services assisted on the scene.
