Confirmed tornado touches down north of Memphis, Missouri

The National Weather Service has confirmed that a tornado made a brief touchdown 1.3 miles north of Memphis, Missouri, in Scotland County.

The NWS stated that the tornado touched down at 8:27 p.m. Tuesday. It was classified as an EF-0 with 80 mph winds and covered a path 10 yards wide .2 miles long.

The NWS reported that an empty grain bin was lofted approx 200 yards over a line of trees and into a pond.
