The process Quincy Public Schools is using to sell its old elementary schools was discussed at Wednesday night’s board meeting.
The discussion on the issue was brief but the district is moving forward in the process to sell both Dewey and Washington Elementary schools.
With new elementary schools opening up this fall, both Dewey and Washington schools are almost vacant.
The district plans to auction both off in the fall.
Wednesday night, the board discussed how they will put those properties up for bid.
"We need to invest a few dollars to get some advertising for bigger and beyond Quincy to try to get more people interested or aware that there are going to be buildings auctioned off." said school board member Mike Troup.
The money the district receives from the auction will fund other building projects throughout the district.
