A patriotic mural on Market Street in Hannibal is getting a big upgrade for 4th of July.
After 9-11, former owners of Bank and Post Office on Market Street had a simple American flag mural painted on it’s side, which outlived the brickwork of the building.
The current owner of the building has hired freelance artist and muralist Ray Harvey to give the side of the building some new stars and stripes.
"I’m working on one of the longest painted flags in Missouri right now, I’ve been hired by brad to come in and work on a sixty foot wide, eighteen foot tall American flag," said Harvey
The mural is planned to be finished July 3rd, just in time for Independence Day.
