County Market unveils cupcake design for the Honor Flight

With the 4th of July only a few days away, County Market in Quincy is doing something different this year to raise money for the next Great River Honor Flight.

They had a cupcake sale Saturday with treats that made up the red, white, and blue on the American Flag.

The store on 48th and Broadway made more than 2,000 cupcakes and set up a patriotic display for the sale.

"It shows people what this is going to and how happy it makes vets that get to take that trip," Store Director Brad Niemann said. "People are coming in buying one cupcake or 24 cupcakes and just kind of donating what they want."

The next mission will be Mission 49 out of Hannibal this fall. Niemann hopes to make this fundraiser an annual tradition.
