Shelbina Police arrest Kansas man for drugs

The Shelbina Police Department has reported the arrest of an Overland Park, Kansas, man on drug related charges.

Police state that Sky Young, 19 was arrested on Monday during a traffic stop. 

The Shelbina Police Department reported that they observed a vehicle traveling north on N. Center Street in Shelbina, Missouri. As the vehicle approached the officer’s patrol vehicle, it stopped in the roadway, impeding the flow of traffic. As a result, the officer performed a traffic stop on US 36 for the traffic violation.

Police stated that during the traffic stop officers noticed an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A search of the vehicle was conducted and yielded approximately 27 grams of cocaine, approximately 29 grams of katamine, marijuana wax, over 8,400 dollars in cash and items of drug paraphernalia.

Young was transported to the Shelby County Jail and placed on a 24 hour hold, pending warrant for distribution of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.
