Flags of Love puts patriotic display in Chandler Park

If you’re in downtown Macomb, you’ll find quite the patriotic display in Chandler Park.

The Flags of Love Committee is hard at work again. Volunteers from the Elks and Eagles Clubs put up hundreds of American flags in and around the park. They put them up at 6 a.m. and will remain up until 6 p.m. tonight.

Business owner across the street said that he enjoys what the flags bring to the city.

"It’s beautiful," Co-owner of Sports Corner Bar Todd Hamilton said. "It really makes Macomb shine this time of year and other occasions that we have. It’s a real nice tribute to the founding fathers and the 4th of July."

This is one of three days of the year that the flags go up. They can also be seen on Memorial Day and Veterans Day.
