A Monday night residential fire in Quincy is being investigated by authorities, according to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Brian VonderHaar stated that at approximately 9:15 p.m. Monday deputies responded to a residence on Curved Creek Rd. to investigate suspicious circumstances regarding a residence on fire in the subdivision.
VonderHaar stated that Tri-Township Fire and the Illinois State Fire Marshall are assisting in the investigation. He stated the Quincy Fire Department responded to the call and assisted in extinguishing the fire.
Chief Deputy Joe Lohmeyer said the suspicion is because it’s believed that someone started the fire.
"It’s too early to release any suspects at this time," said Lohmeyer.
VonderHaar stated that the investigation is ongoing.
