EDITORS NOTE: In September a judge dropped charges against Mitchell.
The man accused of shooting a cat with an arrow in Hannibal last week has turned himself in, according to the Hannibal Police Department.
Lt. John Zerbonia stated that Nicholas Mitchell, 29 of Hannibal, who was wanted for Felony Animal Abuse, turned himself into officers on Saturday.
Mitchell was wanted in connection with the discovery of a cat on Friday that had been shot with an arrow. The cat also had other injuries.
After reviewing the investigative report, Marion County Prosecutor David Clayton stated, “Animal abuse of any type will not be tolerated. My office will continue to work closely with the Hannibal Police Dept. We are both taking the matter very seriously”.
Mitchell was placed on a 24 hour hold in the Marion County Jail. His bond was set at $25,000.00.
