McDonough Co. vehicle pursuit results in meth arrest

McDonough County Sheriff Nick Petitgout has reported the arrest of an Oquawka, Illinois, woman for possession of Methamphetamine.

Petitgout stated that Christine Doan, 26 was arrested early Sunday morning following a vehicle pursuit.

Petitgout reported that at 1:27 a.m. deputies assisted with a vehicle pursuit that originated in Henderson County, Illinois. The vehicle eluded deputies and the pursuit was terminated. Deputies later located the vehicle in Walnut Grove, Illinois, but the occupants had fled the area.

A short time later deputies stopped a vehicle belonging to Pepsi Smith, 29, of Galesburg, Illinois. Doan was a passenger in the vehicle and was found to be in possession of Methamphetamine less than 5 grams and associated drug paraphernalia. Doan also admitted to being the passenger of the vehicle that was being pursued by Henderson and McDonough County Sherrif’s departments, Petitgout reported.

Doan was taken to the McDonough County Jail where she was processed and posted $500.00 on Sunday.

Petitgout stated, that the investigation is continuing and more charges are pending and more arrests will follow.
