The YMCA of West Central Illinois announced Wednesday that they had named a new interim CEO.
YMCA officials stated that effective Monday, Rick Shover would accept the interim position over the three primary branches in Quincy, Mt. Sterling, Illinois, and Barry, Illinois.
Mr. Shover is recently retired from The First National Bank of Barry headquartered in Barry, Illinois, where he was CEO and President of the Board. He recently completed his second, three-year term as a member of the YMCA Board of Directors where he was active on the Finance Committee and acted as a special assistant to the previous CEO in areas such as governance, board development and programs. In addition, he was instrumental in the start-up of the Western Branch located in Barry, Illinois, YMCA officials stated.
According to incoming Board President Glenn Bemis, “Having Rick accept this position is extremely positive for the Y. His extensive knowledge of the Y mission, reputation within the community and his business experience is a perfect fit during our CEO search.”
Mr. Shover is expected to fill the interim role until October 1, when the board has targeted to have a new, full-time CEO on board.
