Veteran flies again for 103rd birthday

A Navy veteran about to celebrate his 103rd birthday got quite the present Monday night. Jim Haslem took a ride in a plane as friends cheered him on.

Haslem became a stunt pilot after leaving the military years ago and on Tuesday, he turns 103 years old.
He said he was truly excited to see the inside of a plane again.

"I’m gonna enjoy that trip 100 percent. Every bit of it. I’m gonna look at everything on the ground i can see, and I’m gonna enjoy it," said Haslem.

For more on Haslem’s story, you can read Tuesday’s edition of the Herald Whig.
