Hannibal police warn of vehicle thefts

The Hannibal Police Department has warned the public of a string of vehicle thefts.

HPD asked everyone to remove valuable items from their vehicles and to make sure their vehicles are locked at night.

Over the past few weeks, there were several thefts of items from unlocked vehicles, according to HPD.

HPD stated that these thefts were crimes of opportunity and could be avoided if valuable items were not stored in unlocked vehicles at night.
