Opportunity for high school students to get a look at college life

Listen up high school students, Quincy University and John Wood Community College are teaming up this summer for an event called Camp College.

Students will be able to explore the different campuses, the different majors they offer and what life on campus would be like.

"Quincy is one great city and we have two great schools," said Brittany Ellerman the QU Director of Admissions. "So, I keep saying we really want to make sure that we have a strengthen relationship where we can show that there are different options for college, the community college route, the four-year private school route with Quincy University."

Both colleges said while it’s open for all high school students in the country, they want to show local students the great opportunities they have to offer.

"It’s really pretty amazing that there are two colleges right here in Quincy and we want to give people the opportunity to see what’s their own backyard and make it convenient to do it in one day," said Tracy Orne, JWCC Director of Public Relations and Marketing.

Camp College will be hosted on Friday, July 27th from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM. It is free to high school students 9th through 11th grade and parents can also join.
