The Quincy Police Department responded Thursday afternoon to a shooting in the 900 block of Payson Avenue.
QPD stated the call came in at 4:12 p.m. They stated that upon arrival they located a 14-year-old male who was conscience, alert and breathing who reported he had been shot in the head.
Detectives said they questioned the victim at the hospital leading them to believe that foul play was involved.
However, detectives believe this was an isolated incident.
"I don’t have any reason to believe this is going to be something that continues," said Quincy Police Department Detective Gabriel VanderBol. "The two individuals are known to each other."
They also questioned other people who may have been at the home at the time of the shooting.
QPD stated the investigation is ongoing.
