Officials with the Jackson-Lincoln Swimming Complex, Inc announced on their Facebook page Wednesday that the Quincy pool has closed for the season.
Amber Brown is the general manager at Jackson-Lincoln and says a main circulation pump went out earlier this week. The pump is needed to circulate and filter the water. Brown says it would have taken two weeks to get the replacement part in and the pool was slated to close in two weeks.
However, Brown says they have every intention of reopening again next summer.
"We’ve got a lot of support from our community and board members to where we will always open in the summer," said Brown.
Even without the pool, Thursday night Family Swim Night will continue at the pool with activities and food for the kids.
On Tuesday, prior to the announcement that they were closed for the season. Jackson-Lincoln posted to Facebook that they would be closed for a couple of days citing issues with the pump.
