Quincy High School students attend Camp College

The start of school is just around the corner and local colleges are making sure kids are thinking about life after high school.

Today local high school students got the chance to explore Quincy University and John Wood Community College through a program called Camp College.

Roughly 30 students going into 9th through 12th grades and their parents visited both campuses to learn about the different majors and campus life both schools offer.

"We’re really wanting to highlight the educational opportunities here locally," said Melanie Lechtenberg of John Wood Community. "So, we’ve put together a day that they can tour both of our campuses."

"It’s giving me a better idea what I would have to do to get my degree and some different places I could go," said Julia Liesen, prospective student.

Parents and students were also given information on the admissions process and financial aid from both schools.
