Quincy officials said construction on a busy Quincy intersection is on track.
The intersection is on Maine Street, from 12th to 14th. Crews are replacing sewer mains, water lines, curbs, gutters, sidewalks and traffic signals.
The 1.7 million dollar project, which is in front of the junior high school, started in May. City officials said the road should reopen in two weeks.
"Big project, tight schedule," Quincy Director of Utilities and Engineering Jeffrey Conte said. "Fortunately, the weather has been cooperative for the most part. Of course the rain here today and one day last week was a little bit of a setback, but we still intend to have that open to traffic before school starts."
Although the intersection on 12th and Maine will reopen, Conte said expect a four-way stop until crews can install traffic signals. Conte said he’s not sure when that will happen.
