Palmyra looking into repurposing old police department

At Thursday’s Palmyra city council meeting, council members approved taking a step to repurpose the old police building on the back side of city hall.

1st Ward Councilman Ken Sheputis said they’d like to be able to use the building rather than leave it vacant.

"The old police station building has just been vacated. We’re wanting to have it assessed to see what uses it will hold for the city. So we’re going to have Klingner and associates assess that building for us so we know what we have and what it can be used for," stated Sheputis.

The city hopes to finish repurposing the police department late next year.
