Tri-State doctors say now is the time to start thinking about getting your flu shot.
The Centers for Disease Control recommends people get their vaccines by the end of October.
Quincy’s SIU Center for Family Medicine will start offering flu shots next month, doctors say there’s an option available this season after a two-year hiatus.
"The nasal spray is available," said Dr. Tom Hu. "Typically it can give you some coverage and protection against the flu but not as much as the flu shot itself."
The CDC says this year’s vaccines have been updated, to better match current flu strains.
Doctors recommend the flu vaccine for everyone over six months old.
