There’s more help available for local organizations that help people in need.
Illinois’ Charitable Trust is accepting grant applications. The grants are for small non-profit organizations that focus on workforce and economic development, housing, and food programs. The organization’s annual budget must be $1 million or less. Applications are currently being accepted and the deadline is September 30.
Heath Richmond with The Community Foundation says these grants are beneficial for our local non-profit organizations.
"The smaller the non-for-profit is, the more they have to do to make sure that those dollars work, because they don’t have a lot to work with," said Richmond. "So getting opportunities, such as, the Illinois Charitable Trust, it is just one more thing that they can do to help build their programs and strengthen the services they provide to our community."
