For college students, it can be difficult to stay up-to-date on vehicle and license renewals, which is why Western Illinois University is bringing the services to campus.
The Illinois Secretary of State set up in the student union this morning, offering services to students from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Those services include new ID’s, driver license updates, license plate renewals and car titles. Students can ask questions and may pay a small fee depending on the service.
"We just make it convenient, so it is easy for them, as a lot of them probably forget with busy days of school," Jeremy Keeley with the Illinois Secretary of State Mobile Unit said. "So we come to them, so it makes it easier for them."
Illinois Secretary of State officials say it’s important to stay on top of these things to avoid legal trouble and will come to WIU on the last Thursday of every month to offer students’ services.
