John Wood Community College Volleyball Team Plays Host To Their First Match In 9 Years On Wednesday Night

The Trailblazers of John Wood Community College returned to the volleyball court Wednesday evening eager to post a win against East Central College out of Union, Missouri.

Blazers head coach Madeline Halford was guiding this revamped program with a clear focus and determination in her voice on tonight. A night in which JWCC was hosting their first match in 9 years.

A very nice crowd was on hand to help celebrate and watch the Blazers battle on their home floor, but the squad just could not put together any rallies tonight against ECS.

The Trailblazers found themselves trailing most of the time in the three games that they played.

It was a tough and disappointing night for JWCC as they fell to defeat in 3 sets by the scores of 19-25, 10-25, and 15-25.

Anna Peters had 10 attacks and 3 kills for John Wood, while Shayla Darnell finished with 25 attacks and 8 kills.

Kayla Owesly finished the night with 22 digs for the Trailblazers. Paige Perrine chipped in with 11 digs.

John Wood returns to action, on the road, on August 31 at a tourney in Iowa.
