Missouri State Highway Patrol will have extra troopers out enforcing all laws on the road and water for Labor Day Weekend.
Sergeant Eric Brown with the Missouri State Highway Patrol says they will be enforcing Operation C.A.R.E. (Crash Awareness & Reduction Effort), a national traffic enforcement program aimed at making holiday weekends safer, which includes looking for intoxicated drivers and speeding.
Highway Patrol says one of the biggest tips is to cut down on is distractions by putting down cell phones if your are behind the wheel and drivers should be prepared to adjust travel plans based on weather conditions.
Sgt. Brown adds driver should check tires and fluid levels before traveling to help prevent car trouble and if you have to pull over, make sure it is in a safe spot. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says if you see any dangerous activity call 911.
