A running club held their 5K Labor Day Run on Monday, but runners said this run was different.
Quincy and Hannibal runners with The Heartland Road Runners Club dedicated their run Monday morning to Mollie Tibbetts, the Iowa Student who was killed while she was jogging last month.
"As runners we want to take the roads back," said runner Doug Seeber. "Make sure women know how to run safe and that we all can enjoy the sport that we love so much."
The group said this run is apart of a movement called #MilesForMollie.
"She wasn’t able to finish her run, we’re finishing it for her and remembering her and all the others who are out there running every day," said Seeber.
Seeber said back in 2013 they had a similar run, dedicated to victims of the Boston Marathon Bombings.
