Refurbished war memorial in Hannibal unveiled

The refurbished war memorial in Hannibal’s Central Park was unveiled Tuesday evening.

The memorial has more than 5,000 names of veterans all from northeast Missouri. The plaques that hold those names were sent off to be restored earlier this year.

It cost over $12,000 to complete but the city says it was done all through donations.

The Parks Department also announced a campaign to raise money for a brand new memorial. They are hoping to raise $60,000 for an all wars memorial that will be placed in the Cardiff Hill Overlook.
