Many Tri State drivers had to take a detour Wednesday morning due to flash flooding on several roads.
Missouri Department of Transportation officials said their crews were out early Wednesday morning putting up barricades on roads that were flooding.
MoDOT officials also said they keep an eye on places they know are prone to flash flooding and try to shut them down before the water covers the road.
"We started earlier this week when we first started getting the forecast about heavy rainfall as well as potential flooding so we’re able to get barricades and other items into place so they’re easily deployed if we have to close roads,"
MoDOT officials said they’re prepared to close even more roads if needed.
