Career Fair at John Wood Community College

John Wood Community College will host the region’s largest career fair inside the student activity center gymnasium Thursday from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. with nearly 30 employers looking to fill both full and part-time positions.

Dick Tabb with John Wood Career Services suggest people keep an open mind and visit every booth.

"Transferable skills are important, it’s something that don’t deny yourself the opportunity for a job just because you don’t know anything about the company," Tabb said.

Sunset Home, a nursing facility in Quincy, is one of the companies hiring for registered nurses certified nursing assistance and licensed practitioner nurses to care for residents.

"They should definitely have a passion for helping others you know our number one priority is our residents here so being able to help them is our number one goal," Sunset Home Human Resource Generalist Lexis Hoener said.

Tabb added people should dress for an interview and bring a resume, if you have one.

WGEM and The Herald Whig are sponsors of the career fair.
