Quincy YMCA collecting supplies for schools during membership drive

The Quincy YMCA will be giving back to local schools with its September membership drive.

Officials at the Y said they will waive fees for new members to join the gym if they donate Clorox wipes or copy paper to Berrian Elementary School, supplies they say are needed in the classroom.

"It’s just a great way for us to partner with one of our local schools and provide a service to kind of give back to the community as well as helping out the teachers and students as well as giving people a little incentive to join the Y," Quincy YMCA Marketing Director Michelle Terwelp.

The Y said while fees can only be waived for new members, everyone is encouraged to drop off Clorox wipes or copy paper during business hours.
