McMasters Avenue project expected to be done in October

MoDOT Assistant District Engineer Kevin James says crews hope to have the McMasters Avenue project complete by mid October, weather permitting.

He says they expect to finish replacing sidewalks and adding new ones in the next few weeks, along with putting the permanent signal poles at Stardust & Pirate Pride in October.

James a lot of progress was made in a short-time period when crews closed down the left turn lanes on McMasters to work on curbs and gutters this earlier this year.

“The construction season always has it’s peaks and valleys here near the end of the season as our contractors are trying to finish them all before the weather turns cold,” James said.

Missouri Driver Larry Hilse says  he doe not mind all the roadwork because the end result will be worth it.

“I mean everyone is gonna be inconvenienced sooner or later but that’s too bad, I look at it as we have to evolve we have to keep going forward.,” Hilse said.

James added one of the final phases of the project with be resurfacing the entire McMasters Avenue, and that work will be done at night.
