Interest in Hannibal riverfront moves along

Officials in Hannibal say they have a lot of interest in who will redevelop the riverfront.

At a pre-bid meeting last week, several companies showed up to look at the project and talk it over with parks officials.

Officials say you may see work begin on the riverfront before official bids are approved.

“Our maintenance people will be down here doing some demolition work in the next month,” said Mary Lynne Richards with the Hannibal Parks & Recreation Dept. “They’ll probably be taking out some sidewalks and doing any kind of demolition work we can before the real work begins.”

The parks department will start receiving official bids on October 2nd then they hope to present the lowest bid to city council at i second November meeting.
