WGEM, The Salvation Army and HyVee are teaming up for the 31st Annual Fall Harvest to bring non-perishable food items to those in need.
Here are the ways you can help:
Salvation Army staff & volunteers will be collecting food on the following dates:
- October 9 at WGEM Studio H from 6:30 a.m. to 9 am.
- October 16 at the Harrison HyVee from 9 am – 6:30 pm,
- October 23 and at the Broadway HyVee from 9 a.m. to 6:30 pm.
When shopping at HyVee, if you make a $1, $5 or $10 donation at the register to Fall Harvest, you’ll receive fuel saver cents, or make a donation of non-perishable food items in the designated food barrel.
The WGEM Fall Harvest Air Specialists School Challenge is way for your school to win money and a trip to the Kroc Center for your school just by donating. Check with your tri-state school for more information!
Food donations can be dropped off at the Kroc Center at 405 Vermont or at the Emergency Shelter and Family Services Center at 501 Broadway.

2018 is the 31st Anniversary of the WGEM Fall Harvest
The campaign runs all through October.

1,350 Christmas food baskets were distributed to families in the Salvation Army service area
Last Thanksgiving and Christmas, 885 meals were served.
2,154 families have been helped with food through the food pantry
18,033 meals have been served through the Emergency Shelter
1,045 meals and snacks were served through the Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Services Program
13,182 instances of service through the daily bread line
