John Wood Community College will host Trail Blazer Day Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. for prospective students and their families to visit, meet professors and learn about academic programs offered.
People can learn about scholarships, financial aid, hear information about the 30 academic majors offered at the college, and learn where John Wood graduates transfer or begin their career.
“This trailblazer is special because it’s for students and their parents or support system to come with them. We know parents and family are a big part of their decision so it’s great for them to hear that information,” Kristen Ritterbusch, JWCC Admissions Director said.
People attending will have the opportunity to interact with current students.
“Its a great opportunity for them to look at the school learn about what John Wood has to offer, I came to Trail Blazer day and I loved it,” John Wood student Abby Reno said.
Parents and prospective students will also have the opportunity to participate in a question and answer dialogue with current JWCC students, administrators and faculty during the event.
John Wood Admission Advisor Matt Bilgri attended Trail Blazer as a prospective student and recommends it for anyone considering college.
“When I was a senior I was trying to go on as many college visits as possible and I thought this was a good opportunity for me to see the campus,” Bilgri said.
Dinner will be served, so they are asking people register for the event, but if you do not register officials say people are still welcome attend.
