The WGEM Illinois Gubernatorial debate served as a lesson for some Quincy University students.
The students were invited by their professor Nora Baldner.
Students said it gave them a chance to see democracy in action.
The students say this experience shows them how important it is to be educated before going to the polls.
“This is part of the democracy,” said Abigail Moore. “You’re in America. You get a chance to vote, you get a voice to say who you want to run your government, to be governor. So this is so important.”
QU is on fall break but they will be discussing the debate when they are back in class next Tuesday.
