More information about the fatal house fire will be released this week

Fire officials said they still haven’t determined a cause in the fatal house fire from Friday night and are hoping to complete their investigation by Wednesday.

Assistant Fire Chief Bernard Vahlkamp with the Quincy Fire Department said investigators still needs to complete a few more interviews and are working with the police department on this investigation.

He says both departments plan to meet in the next few days to review their discovery and determine a cause.

Officials Saturday said a mother and her three children were home at the time of the fire at 611 North 8th Street.

Officials said when the fire started, the mother and one of the children in the house were able to get out safely, but 8-year-old Toby Brewer and 5-year-old Emma Kramer did not make it out.

The family is trying to raise money to help with final expenses.

Quincy Public Schools said counseling will be available for students and staff Monday.
