Two arrested for meth in McDonough County

McDonough County Sheriff Nick Petitgout has reported the arrest of two Astoria, Illinois, residents.

Petitgout stated on Saturday at 9:20 p.m., a McDonough County Sheriff’s Deputy observed Shandler Williams, 23, driving a 2003 Chevrolet truck near McDonald’s East in Macomb, Illinois.

The Sheriff stated Shandler had a valid Mason County Warrant and a suspended Illinois Drivers’ License.

He said the passenger, Joshua Easley, 36, had a valid McDonough County Warrant and Fulton County Warrant.

The deputy then made contact with Williams and Easley in a parking area south of McDonald’s.

The sheriff said Williams was in possession of approximately 2 grams of Methamphetamine and associated drug paraphernalia.  The deputy located a pill bottle containing 36 Oxycodone pills in the vehicle.

Investigators said Easley was found to be in possession of 75 Hydrocodone pills.  Both Williams and Easley were transported to the McDonough County Jail where they were processed and lodged.

Williams was charged with possession of Methamphetamine under 5 grams, possession of drug paraphernalia, and lodged on Mason County Warrant 16-SC-132.

Easley was charged with possession of a Controlled Substance (Hyrocodone and Oxycodone), possession of Methamphetamine under 5 grams, possession of drug paraphernalia.

Easley was lodged on his McDonough County Warrant 17-CF-94 and Fulton County Warrant 15-CM-221.

Williams and Easley are both lodged in the McDonough County Jail in lieu of bond pending a hearing on October 15, 2018.
