John Wood Community College honored college students looking for financial support at a scholarship reception Tuesday night.
Camp Point, Illinois native Mary Perry was awarded an ag scholarship from the Quincy Herald Whig and WGEM.
She was among hundreds of students who were awarded more than $50,000 in scholarships during Tuesday night’s program.
“Receiving this award was a big achievement for me because one of my biggest goals is to graduate from college without having to pay back any student loans or any type of debt,” said Perry. “This is really a big step for helping me achieve that.”
Perry says she plans on transfering to a 4-year university with a major in agricultural education.
