The Lee County Narcotics Task Force has reported the arrest of a Fort Madison, Iowa, woman on a felony drug charge.
Unit Commander Jay Whitaker stated that Tanya Jones, 55, of Fort Madison, Iowa, was arrested on Monday at her residence on a felony drug warrant.
Whitaker stated Jones is charged with delivery of more than five grams of methamphetamine, within 1000 Feet of a Park, class B felonies with an enhancement. If convicted, Jones faces up to 30 years in a state correctional facility.
The arrest of Jones stems from an investigation by the Lee County Narcotics Task Force into allegations that she was involved in the distribution of illegal drugs in the Lee County area, according to Whitaker.
Whitaker stated that The Lee County Attorney’s Office, Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement, and the Fort Madison Police Department assisted the Lee County Narcotics Task Force in this investigation.
