If you’re looking for a new healthcare plan on the national marketplace, you can start shopping Thursday, but local agents said you may be in for some surprises when you sign up.
Open enrollment begins November 1st and runs through December 15th.
Health insurance agents said it’s important to make sure you’re using the correct website–
Healthcare,gov, not .com or .org.
Local agent Tracy Kiefer said many prices and plans have changed from last year, so it’s good to double check what the site’s offering.
“You know if you like your plan, like everything about it, you don’t think your income is going to change at all, you really don’t have to. But if you want to go in and double check and make sure, in some cases we’ve seen the price drop a little bit more, in other cases it usually just stays the same,” said Kiefer at O’Brien Insurance Agency.
Health insurance agents said if you think you need help in person… Go to Healthcare.gov and click ‘Find Local Help’ to find someone before the weekend of December 15th.
