Do you know anyone struggling to make ends meet? Well, if you do you are not alone.
Social service officials say many in the Tri-States are in need and the Salvation Army in Quincy hopes to raise money through their Tree of Lights Christmas Campaign.
The campaign goal will be announced at the kick-off held Thursday November, 8 in The Kroc Center’s worship theater in Quincy at 6:00 p.m.
Major Andy Miller says the money raised provides around 30 to 40 percent of the funding for different programs including the emergency shelter and food pantry, not only around the holidays but throughout the year.
“It’s important to set a reasonable goal, one that we also know helps us provide the needs to the people we serve.”
Major Miller added the Salvation Army met their goal to raise $400,000 last year.
