Quincy man arrested for child porn headed to grand jury

Quincy (WGEM) —   A St. Peter School daycare worker who was arrested October 31 for distribution of child pornography will be heading to a grand jury.

Nathaniel Caldwell, 21 made his second court appearance on Tuesday in which he waived his right to a pre-trial.

Adams County State’s Attorney Gary Farha said the case is scheduled to be a part of the grand jury trail on November 15.

“Because of the number of cases we have, the situation with court reporters, and the general docket calls are so busy that we take all cases to the grand jury, Farha said. “It just so happens that this Thursday that we have grand jury and so, in the normal course of things we will take the case to the grand jury.”

Farha says the grand jury is scheduled on the third Thursday of every month in Adams County.

An arraignment has been set for November 27.

Caldwell is charged with three counts of child pornography. He is accused of having two lewd photographs and a video of children whom “the defendant reasonably should have known was under the age of 13 years” on his phone.

Prosecutors said 169 pornographic images were found on Caldwell’s phone along with 17 pornographic videos.
