Car collides with school bus in Hannibal

Hannibal police said a 2010 Chevrolet Equinox hit a school bus Friday afternoon.

In a statement, police said it happened at the intersection of Palmyra Rd. and Pulliam Ave. after the driver of the vehicle failed to yield to the Hannibal School bus.

Police said the bus was loaded with students at the time of the crash. Officers said the Equinox pulled out in front of the school bus which struck the front end of the car.

The passenger of the Equinox was transported to Hannibal Regional Hospital for treatment of injuries.

No injuries were reported from any students on the school bus.

Police say the driver of the Equinox was issued a citation for fail to yield involving an accident.
