QUINCY, IL (WGEM) – A family will be able to enjoy Christmas this year, thanks to the 30th annual “Good News of Christmas Campaign.”

A luncheon was hosted on Thursday by The Young Professionals Organization to raise money for the family they adopted. A dad, mom, and four children went from a two-income family to a single-paycheck household.

“I hope this family realizes that they are surrounded by a community that cares, a community that is willing to step forward and also give and help them in their time of trouble,” said Latonya Brock, Quincy Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director.

The money raised will help purchase items off the family’s wish list, like winter coats for the children.

“Well hopefully the family is not only able to spend time this holiday season around the Christmas tree with Christmas presents and that kind of fun stuff, but hopefully they take away the memories of this holiday season,” said Eric Wait, “Good News of Christmas Campaign” Coordinator.
