Quincy (WGEM) — Officials at Quincy University are set to introduce the new president of the university.
Officials stated Friday that they will announce the 24th president on Monday at 9 a.m.
In November, officials had announced that they had trimmed their list of candidates down to three from almost 70 that they started with in September. The Board of Trustees has now made their final decision.
Search Committee Chairman Mike McClain says the goal would be for the new president to take office on July 1st.
The university named Phil Conover the 23rd president on September 9, 2017. He had served as the interim since May 15, 2017 after the resignation of Robert Gervasi who left to become president of Ohio Dominican University, according to the Quincy University website.
Editor’s note: A previous version of this story stated that Phil Conover was the interim president. Conover was named the 23rd president in September of 2017.
