Hannibal City Council heard an update to bicentennial celebration plans Tuesday night.
Hannibal Convention and Visitors Bureau Director Gail Bryant presented to the council a list of planned events, all to celebrate Hannibal’s 200th birthday.
Events include concerts and plays along with enhancing the festivals the city is already known for.
Bryant expects the bicentennial to draw an increase in visitors.
“We feel that it will bring a lot of people,” she said. “If they haven’t been here in a while or if they’ve been here just recent, I think they will come back because Hannibal is all about rich history and this is a great time for us to showcase it.”
The city will kick of the celebration with the mayor’s reunion at City Hall on January 2nd.
