Homeless Quincy man arrested for burglary, meth, failure to appear

Quincy (WGEM) — A homeless man in Quincy has been arrested for Burglary, Possession of Meth and Failure to appear on a warrant for Forgery.

Quincy Police state that Michael Smith, 41, was arrested on Wednesday near 7th and Broadway St. after an on-going investigation by police.

Police report that recently several businesses in Quincy were burglarized and coin-operated machines were broken into.

Smith’s offenses include:

  • Criminal Damage over $500, Theft Over $500 (Southside Laundromat)
  • Burglary (Dock Tavern)
  • Theft from Coin Operated Machine and Theft Under $500 (Hometown Tavern)
  • Burglary (Quincy Racquet Club)
  • Possession of Methamphetamine and Failure to appear warrant for Forgery
