The Taylor bridge project in Marion County has halted.
That’s because the county is waiting on a permit from the Army Corps of Engineers to move forward with the bidding process.
Presiding Commissioner Lyndon Bode said they had hoped to have bids in for the project back in November.
Even with the delay, Bode said he still expects the project to be completed by late summer of next year.
“It’s a standard permit. It’s something we anticipate that we’ll get. So we don’t have any fear that it won’t come through. It’s just a matter of timing,” said Bode.
Bode said the new bridge will be wide enough for two lanes of traffic and it can handle farm machinery. He said the project will cost a little over $1 million.
